After a five-year job as an architect and many "walking years" in India, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the USA he founded the KaJo publishing house in 1985. Three titles of his KaJo series were awarded with the Kodak photo book prize. In 1996 he sold his journey coffee-table book to another publishing house to be able to devote hisself to the photography more and more. His reports and photographs were printed in many magazines (Stern, Spiegel, Geo-Saison, Merian, deutsche Bauzeitung, National Geographic Traveller, etc.). Further customers are the NORD/LB, DG-Bank, Höft+Wessel Computer, Bundesstiftung Umwelt and various architectural offices. KaJo is a founder member and executive board at FreeLens.
